Project Description

For the continuation of clean water that we can inherit future generations, it is of great importance to use existing resources consciously, to save water, to prevent water pollution, and to realize the importance of water.  The way to make this possible is to raise/educate individuals who feel responsible for solving problems related to social problems, who can produce individual and collaborative alternative solutions with the help of creative and analytical thinking skills, who learn lifelong with the awareness of sustainable development, and who understand the relationship of social and technological changes and transformations with science and natural environment.

By this project, individuals with these skills will be the outputs of our project. In recent years, the integration of environmental education with STEM education and the facilitating role of environmental issues in STEM education have become increasingly important. E-STEM (Environment-Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) refers to the integration of environmental education and STEM education. The reasons such as the fact that environmental issues facilitate deepening in these fields by linking STEM disciplines with each other, that environmental issues directing the use of 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication and cooperation and that real-life problems are more interesting and arousing to students play an important role in the emergence of the integration of environmental education with STEM education. STEM education provides important opportunities for effective environmental education.

Therefore, we will take advantage of these opportunities in our project.

The main issues we will deal with in our project will be to find solutions and raise awareness for such issues as climate change, global warming and drought, increase in water waste, unconscious use of surface and ground water, pollution of water resources to a dangerous level.

Objectives

- We will develop training materials by using web 2 tools.

- New experiences, like E-STEM, will be incorporated in school/organization curriculum.

- Participants will develop/reinforce their networks of partners, support the development, transfer and implementation of innovative practices as well as the implementation of joint initiatives promoting cooperation and exchanges of experience at European level.

- Teachers/students will have more positive attitude towards the European projects/EU values.

-They will have a chance to work in a transnational project/develop their cooperation skills, be more aware of the importance of the environment at international level, contribute to the protection of water resources thanks to this green project-an environmental project most of the products of which are digital.

- Our project will produce outputs innovative for schools/organisations. It will produce new learning opportunities/teaching materials to develop basic skills. Students will learn by doing/develop the right attitude/skills towards environmental/water issues, improve learning skills, life skills, multiple intelligences, communication, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship, cultural, environmental and water awareness, learn group-work/participate in learning process actively/learn new cultures.

- Organizations/schools will benefit from the cooperation with their partners/gain an increased capacity in project management/improve organizational, management, planning and partnership skills. In the long term, the new pedagogical practices will modify our ways of teaching/improve the school results of our students.
